　　Postdoc in Mathematical Modelling in Cardiology.

　　We are offering a position in mathematical modelling in cardiology with a focus on cellular models and application of artificial intelligence and machine learning methods for dynamical systems. This modelling will be embedded in the group Mathematical Cell Physiology and experimental cardiovascular research at the Max Delbrück Center and other institutes.

　　Description:

　　The research task comprises topics like single molecule modelling, membrane potential dynamics, muscle contraction, analysis and use of omics data for modelling, disease models and development of mathematical modelling methods. The postdoc will have the opportunity to apply for own funding for graduate students to expand her or his research.

　　Requirements:

　　The preferred applicant will have a master in mathematics, physics or engineering, and a PhD in mathematics, theoretical physics, bioengineering or modelling of biological systems, which led to publications in widely recognized journals. Experience in mathematical modelling, good knowledge of finite element methods, theory of stochastic processes, experience in application of artificial intelligence and machine learning methods and programming skills in C++ are requirements. Teaching and advising graduate students will be part of the duties and responsibilities. The Berlin-based Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine in the Helmholtz Association is one of the world-leading research institutes for molecular biology and genetics, with a focus on translational approaches to develop treatments for neurological diseases, cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and metabolic diseases.
