Introduction:
A teaching postdoctoral position is available in the lab of Dr. Nathan Baird at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. The Baird lab combines emerging research in RNA biochemistry with chemical screening to advance RNA-targeted drug discovery. Additional research projects focus on structure-function analyses of novel RNA-ligand interactions.
In this position, the teaching and research responsibilities will partially overlap. Under the guidance of Dr. Baird, the candidate will teach an established course-based undergraduate research experience (CURE) in which students participate in an ongoing Baird lab research project. Teaching opportunities in additional biochemistry courses may also be included.
Highly motivated candidates who are interested in combining research and teaching are encouraged to apply. Research experience in biochemistry and/or biophysics is required. Additional skills pertaining to the analysis and management of large data sets, including a basic knowledge of computer scripting languages, are desirable though not required。
