One postdoctoral research position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Rumela Chakrabarti in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania. The lab is interested in understanding drug resistance and lack of response of patients to therapies in breast cancer. Particularly, we are interested in understanding the crosstalk with immune cells and cancer cells in breast cancer. Lab uses cutting edge technologies, such as PDX model, organoids, patient samples, mouse models, RNA-seq, cytokine arrays etc to understand important questions in aggressive breast cancer subsets.
Our projects rely heavily on mouse models (knockout mice, conditional knockout mice, transgenic mice) and primary cell culture and cell line models (2D and 3D). Applicants must be willing to work with mice, and experience with mice is preferred. Applicants must have received a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree and have strong interpersonal and communication skills, including fluency in spoken and written English. Recent graduates with 0-2 years of postdoctoral experience are preferred. The successful applicant will be highly skilled in molecular biology techniques (cloning, PCR, Western blot etc) and cell culture. Knowledge on Flow cytometry and protein biochemistry is a plus.
