Two Post-doctoral Researcher Positions
We are currently looking for two enthusiastic, ambitious, highly motivated and collegial Postdoctoral Researchers who will work in the newly established laboratory of Prof. Dr. Tianliang Sun at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York.
The Sun lab is interested in cell communications during various physiopathological processes. Our research focuses on the multicellular dynamics in the liver during homeostasis, regeneration and tumor formation (Planas-paz and Sun et al., Cell Stem Cell, 2019; Sun et al., Cell Stem Cell, 2020; Sun et al., Cell Stem Cell, 2021). We offer opportunities to use a diverse group of cutting-edge in vitro and in vivo technologies, including mouse genetics, liver organoid engineering, gene and cell therapy, CRISPR screen, single cell profiling, spatial transcriptomics, epigenomic/transcriptomic profiling, advanced imaging and lineage tracing to understand the process of liver regeneration and various liver diseases on single cell and spatial level. Candidates with a strong interest in basic and translational liver research are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications:
1. A PhD or equivalent in Biological Sciences or related field.
2. A genuine love for science, hardworking, positive attitude with a problem-solving and resilient mindset.
3. Desire to innovate and tackle the challenging questions.
4. Ability to learn quickly, think creatively, work both independently and within a team.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Our lab is affiliated with the Black Family Stem Cell Institute, Division of Liver Diseases, Department of Medicine and the Department of Cell, Developmental and Regenerative Biology where the postdoc will have the perfect environment for basic science as well as applicational/translational research.
