Postdoctoral researcher in Cognitive Science

Candidates are invited to apply for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Cognitive Science role in the Human Information Processing Lab (Professor Chris Summerfield).

The post is full-time, fixed term for up to 2 years.

The post holder will be responsible for carrying out rigorous and impactful research into the cognitive and computational mechanisms of human learning, and disseminating the findings within the research group, across the wider academic community, and to the general public via talks and publications. They will also provide guidance to less experienced members of the research group, including PhD students, Master students, and other researchers.

The successful candidate will have completed, or be close to completing, a PhD in a relevant discipline (Psychology, Neuroscience or a closely related field). They will have a demonstrable track record of research productivity, including talks and published journal articles along with excellent quantitative skills and experience of research involving human participants. Excellent communication skills are also required for the post. Experience of conducting research using deep neural networks and software development or coding of “gamified” experiments would also be desirable.
