Position Description                                                                      

The incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to, Intellectual property and Industry relevant activities. The detail is as below.

Duties and Responsibilities                                                                    

·Intellectual property:

a.Coordination of intellectual property activities to ensure compliance with relevant government legislation in university IP management, and science and technological transformation.

b. Liaise with external IP service providers; Assists with the planning, organization and execution of internal IP training sessions, IP cultivation related activities, which covers all members of the university (Faculty, staff, student body).

c. Coordinate the internal IP committee.

d. Manage IP budget and expense.

e. Develop and maintain databases for intellectual property and protocols, as well as related legal documents.

f. Support the promotion and presentation of commercialization and innovation within the University and externally to industry and funding agencies.

g. Assists in the review and processing of protocols, invention disclosures and other contractual documents to assure compliance with University Policies, governmental legislation, including administrative management of contracts/agreement or other legal documents.

·Industry relations:

a.Work with Industry Relation Development Manager to deliver a portfolio of activity with external stakeholders that will identify, develop and maximize income generation and impact opportunities through new and existing industry partnerships.

b.Provide support in drafting university policies in areas such as: IP, technology/knowledge transfer, sponsored research projects, academic entrepreneurship, licensing, and spin-off entrepreneurial activities.

·Carry out other duties as assigned.

Required Job Specifications                                                                

·Masters Degree Holder, with either Bachelor or Masters degree specialize in IP;

·Prior work experience in academic setting or institution is mandatory.

Required Job Competencies                                                                

·Chinese and English (can communicate with faculties fluently);

·Overseas study experience, prior work experience in IP law firm would be desirable.
