We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Postdoctoral Scientist to take responsibility for a range of structural and functional biology projects, within David Sauer's Group at the Centre of Medicines Discovery.

You will express proteins in insect and mammalian cells, optimise protein production methods, purify proteins, prepare crystals and cryo-EM grids. You will then collect data and solve structures. You will also be responsible for biophysical and functional studies for the late-stage proteins. You will be responsible for design of assays for small molecule screens against membrane proteins, biophysical chemical characterization of protein-compound interactions, analysis of data and preparation of manuscripts. Many of our projects involve close collaborations with scientists within Oxford, elsewhere in academia, and in Pharma companies, so excellent communication skills and an enthusiasm for working with others is essential.

It is essential that you hold a PhD (or close to completion) in a relevant area of structural biology, biophysics, or biochemistry. You will have a proven academic and/or industrial experience in biochemistry, biophysics, and/or structural biology studies of integral membrane proteins. Previous experience with insect cell and/or mammalian expression systems, protein purification, and optimizing of protein stability, preferably of integral membrane proteins.
